Trigonoscuta is a genus of flightless broad-nosed weevils endemic to California, with distinct species and lineages occurring on the Channel Islands, along the coast, and in desert regions. These beetles are primarily associated with native shrubs and play roles in plant–insect interactions within their respective ecosystems. Their limited dispersal ability, high habitat specificity, and long-term isolation—particularly on the Channel Islands—have resulted in exceptional diversity and endemism, making Trigonoscuta a notable example of California’s unique evolutionary history.
